If Jorge Lorenzo was in any pain during practice on Friday, he can definitely hide it well.

Lorenzo was quickest in both sessions for the Japanese Grand Prix at Twin Ring Motegi, as the Spanish rider continues to heal from a sprained shoulder injury suffered last week in a mini bike accident.

Ducati Team rider Andrea Iannone was also fast on Friday, finishing second in FP1 and third in FP2.

Valentino Rossi, also recovering from an injury to his right arm suffered from a crash in testing after Aragon, was third in FP1. The Italian rider was only good for the eighth best time in FP2.

Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez finished seventh in both practice sessions. Marquez is still nursing a broken finger on his left hand after crashing his bicycle during a training ride earlier this year.
