Lewis Hamilton was the fastest in practice for the Canadian Grand Prix on Friday.
Hamilton was fastest in the morning with a best-lap time of 1:14.755 seconds over the 2.71-mile road course. In the afternoon, his best lap came in at 1:14.212.
Second in the morning was championship leader Nico Rosberg, 0.331 seconds slower than his Mercedes teammate. In the afternoon, Ferrari's Sebastien Vettel was second-fastest, 0.257 seconds behind Hamilton.
Williams' Felipe Massa hit a barrier in Turn 1 and finished only seven laps in the morning, fewest of any driver. He was back out in the afternoon and in the middle of the pack.
Rosberg is first in the standings with 106 points, but Hamilton closed the gap with a win at Monaco in the last race.
