Lebanese man resets record for largest model car and diorama collections

Billy Karam has reset his record for the world’s largest collection of model cars and dioramas.
While the Lebanese man, who admits that his hobby has became “a virus, that unfortunately I’m sick of,” has grown his collection to 37,777 toy cars and 577 dioramas, he admits that he is beginning to run out of space.
Karam tells Guinness World Records, who were on hand to confirm his collection’s record status, that his obsession with collecting toy cars started after his house was robbed when he was young. The intruders stole the collection that he had had at that time, and so he went about the goal of trying to get it all back.
Additionally, Karam has also competed in various motor races himself, and so several of his dioramas depict moments of his career, from his wins to his crashes. World War II’s Battle of the Bulge, a cowboys and Indians set and various movie scene sets are also part of his collection.
