IndyCar: Chip Ganassi Racing confirms Sage Karam for NOLA

Twenty-year-old Sage Karam will be back behind the wheel of the No. 8 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet for round 2 of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series, it was confirmed Tuesday.
Karam was signed as a development driver for the Chip Ganassi Racing team for 2015, yet got to take part in the season opening Grand Prix of St. Pete where he registered a 19th place finish.
“I’m honored to be back in the No. 8 car this weekend at NOLA,” said Karam. “I’m looking forward to applying what I learned in St. Petersburg to this weekend. We’ve run a few tests here so I’m definitely more comfortable in the car than I was in St. Petersburg. I’ll be looking to my Ganassi teammates to help me with my learning curve so we can make sure the COMFORT REVOLUTION/Big Machine Records car has a good run in this inaugural race.”
Karam was the second surprise signing on Tuesday for this weekend’s IndyCar race in NOLA, with Andretti Autosport confirming Simona de Silvestro for the race earlier on in the day.
FOX Sports' IndyCar writer Bruce Martin sat down for an interview with Karam earlier in the week:
