Funny Car points leader Matt Hagan shattered both ends of the track record in qualifying Saturday in the US Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

After a lengthy rain delay, Hagan powered his 8,000-horsepower dragster to a 4.007-second run at 319.22 mph in considerably cooler conditions. Hagan has four event victories this season.

''It was just an incredible run and it was an awesome deal to be able to do that at Indy,'' Hagan said. ''It was worth the wait for us. It's been a phenomenal year and it was cool to see the fans so pumped after that. My team does an amazing job and I'm so glad we could set the track record here.''

Brittany Force stayed atop the Top Fuel field, Allen Johnson remained in front in Pro Stock, and Hector Arana topped the Pro Stock Motorcycle lineup.

Force led with her Friday run of 3.820 at 313.44. The Top Fuel rookie and daughter of Funny Car star John Force, is seeking her first career No. 1 qualifier.

Johnson kept the Pro Stock lead with his Friday pass of 6.661 at 207.02. Arana was the only Pro Stock Motorcycle rider to reach the 6-second zone, going 6.968 at 192.80 on his Buell.

The event ends the 18-race regular season. The top 10 in each division will qualify for the six-race Countdown to the Championship.
