Chaves wins Indy Lights race in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Gabby Chaves won his second Indy Lights race of the season, beating teammate Alex Baron and Zach Veach at Barber Motorsports Park.
Chaves started from the pole Sunday in the No. 5 car for Belardi Auto Racing in the second Legacy Indy Lights 100 race of the weekend. Veach won the Saturday race.
Sunday's race was completed before heavy rains hit the 2.38-mile road course.
Chaves won by 1.5904 seconds over Baron, driving the No. 4 car. Veach was 3.5136 seconds back in third in the No. 26 Andretti Autosport car.

Veach now has a nine-point lead over Chaves for the series championship going into a pair of races May 9-10 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
