An all-female team might be competing at next year's Indianapolis 500.

Driver Katherine Legge is teaming with veteran motorsports executive Beth Paretta to form an organization that hopes to be at the 100th running of the showcase race.

Grace Autosport will champion empowering women in motorsports. Its push will be to encourage a new generation of women to pursue careers in science, technology engineering and math in auto racing.

Legge has a long career as a driver, with two career Indy 500 starts. She currently competes in sports cars. Paretta will be the team principal and is the former motorsports director for SRT Motorsports/Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The team already has hired four women to behind-the-scenes roles. Among them is aerodynamicist Catherine Crawford, who has been an engineer on several sports-car and open-wheel teams.
