Toronto FC reached an agreement to terminate the contract of forward Ali Gerba, who had been sent home from a preseason tournament in South Carolina last month.
The 28-year-old was signed by Toronto last June and scored one goal in five starts and 11 games.
Toronto also signed draft pick Joseph Nane to a developmental contract on Monday. The 23-year-old midfielder is from Old Dominion University.
