Tim Bezbatchenko is Toronto FC's new general manager.
Bezbatchenko will leave his job as senior director of player relations and competition for MLS to take over the front office after Toronto FC - which is 4-14-11 this season - fired president and general manager Kevin Payne on Sept. 5. Earl Cochrane, Toronto's director of team and player operations, was also fired.
The 31-year-old Bezbatchenko is a lawyer with degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Richmond. A native of Westerville, Ohio, he played midfield for the second-tier Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 2004-05 and joined the MLS league offices in 2010.
