Red Bulls coach fined for criticizing officials

Major League Soccer has fined New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe of Sweden $2,500 for criticizing officiating after his team's 3-2 loss to the New England Revolution.

New York was forced to play much of the second half of Saturday's game without defender Carlos Mendes and Costa Rican midfielder Roy Miller, who were shown red cards. Mendes earned his in the 56th minute for a flagrant trip of Serbain Marko Perovic, and Miller in the 75th minute for a foul on Zak Boggs.
