Juan Agudelo scored his first career MLS goal in the 70th minute, lifting the New York Red Bulls to a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday night.

Agudelo, the 18-year-old national team selection who complements $5.5 million captain Thierry Henry up front, took Teemu Tainio's pass from midfield just above the box as he fended off back Jeff Parke. Agudelo then broke in and beat Leo Gonzalez for a clear shot at the net.

The Red Bulls (1-0-0) controlled most of the action against the Sounders (0-2-0), who have yet to score.

Henry had a chance to score in the 7th minute but he tipped his penalty kick and diving goalkeeper kasey Keller knocked it away.
