The expansion Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer have acquired midfielder Jack Jewsbury from Sporting Kansas City for allocation money.
The 29-year-old had 15 goals and 21 assists for Kansas City during the past eight seasons, including two goals in 29 games last year.
The trade was announced Tuesday.
