Major League Soccer Roundup, May 5

Los Angeles Galaxy extended its lead in Major League Soccer with a 1-0 win at Colorado on Wednesday - its first victory at the Rapids for eight years.
Striker Alan Gordon scored the sole goal in the first half to give Los Angeles a record of six wins and a draw from the opening seven games, and the Galaxy is already nine points clear atop the Western Conference.
Colorado lost at home for the first time this season and have gone goalless in consecutive matches.
There were also away wins for Chivas, 4-0 at New England, and Dallas, which edged Texas rival Houston 1-0. D.C. United got its first points of the season with a 2-1 home win against Kansas City.
Chivas benefitted from a 29th minute red card to New England's Serbian midfielder Marko Perovic - the second straight game the Revolution has been reduced to ten men.
Already 1-0 at that stage through a goal from on-loan Mexican striker Jesus Padilla, Chivas doubled the advantage when Justin Braun netted in the 33rd. Padilla added a second in the 48th and Blair Gavin rubbed it in with a fourth in the 81st minute.
Dallas' winning goal came via Ugo Ihemelu scored in the 79th minute, and visitors hung on despite playing the final 18 minutes a man down.
It was Dallas' first win of the season after four draws and a loss.
Dallas' Colombian defender Jair Benitez was shown a straight red card for elbowing Houston striker Luis Landin in the face in the 72nd minute.
D.C. United belatedly opened its points account for the season thanks to two goals from Australian striker Danny Allsopp.
Allsopp, acquired by United as a free agent during the offseason, became the first Australian to score in MLS history
Kei Kamara scored for Kansas City in second-half stoppage time.
