Williams to carry Scott's bag at US Open

Steve Williams, the longtime caddie for Tiger Woods, will be carrying Australian Adam Scott’s bag at this week’s US Open.
But he doesn’t want anyone getting the wrong idea.
“No, no,” he told FOXSports.com, “Of course I’m still working for Tiger.”
“It’s just with Tiger (out of the US Open), Scotty asked me if I’d help him out for the week.”
Scott, who finished runner-up to Charl Schwartzel at the Masters, recently parted ways with his longtime looper, Tony Navarro, and has yet to hire a replacement.
He and Williams, who’s from New Zealand, have known each other for many years and are friends. They spent Saturday practicing at Congressional Country Club, on the outskirts of the nation’s capital, site of the year’s second major.
"With Tiger injured this was a great opportunity to have a caddie like Steve fill in,” Scott said. “It is just a temporary thing till Tiger returns. I am grateful that he wanted to do it."
Williams had flown from New Zealand to his home in Oregon last week expecting to team up with Woods but those plans were scuttled once the 14-time major champion withdrew because of injuries to his left leg.
He was debating about whether to return to his farm in Auckland when Scott called.
He’s been on Woods’ bag for 13 of his majors, beginning in 1999. Before Woods, Williams caddied for Greg Norman and Raymond Floyd, among others.
