Tiger Woods goes mobile with swing app

The Tiger Woods Foundation and mobile platform developer Shotzoom announced Wednesday the launch of "Tiger Woods: My Swing," an iPhone and iPod touch application designed to help golfers improve their swing.
The application, made available Wednesday, uses video analysis and instruction from Woods to help users develop their game.
"Everything about this app is based on how I practice. I've rebuilt my swing a number of times over the years and use this technology to gauge my development and help with my swing transitions," Woods said in a statement on his foundation's website.
"I'm excited that through this app I can take this technology on the road with me and that golfers around the world can now do the same to improve their game."
The application features video capture that is displayed in a side-by-side swing comparison with Woods' swing, as well as analysis and how-to demonstrations by the former world number one.
Proceeds from the mobile application will benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation and its mission to provide college access for underprivileged youths, according to the foundation's website.
"I'm thrilled that in addition to providing fans with a fun way to analyze their golf game, this app will benefit the college access programs of my foundation," Woods said. "From the funds raised, we can continue to give many more young people a shot at college."
Woods is gearing up to play at this weekend's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla. The 35-year-old is in the midst of an uncharacteristic slump that has seen him go winless in 17 events over 16 months, following a sex scandal that led to the end of his marriage and the loss of several endorsement deals.
