The Mechanic drives to the top of the British Open

Miguel Angel Jimenez has teed off with a one-stroke lead midway through the British Open.
The 49-year-old Spaniard is playing in the final group Saturday with Henrik Stenson. The Swede is among a group of four players just behind Jimenez's 36-hole score of 3-under 139. The others are top-ranked Tiger Woods, England's Lee Westwood, and American Dustin Johnson.
In all, 22 golfers are within five shots of the lead going into Moving Day, including first-round leader Zach Johnson and fellow major winners Angel Cabrera and Phil Mickelson.
The setting remains more like Southern California than Scotland - sunny with temperatures in the lower 70s. It seems there are more chances for scoring, with eight of the first 40 finishers in the red. Sergio Garcia and Richard Sterne both shot 68.
