I get the strong impression Tiger Woods will play the PGA Championship and probably next week’s WGC Bridgestone Invitational as a tuneup. We’ll know about the latter Friday, deadline day for commitments.
Woods is said to have resumed practice, including in the last day with instructor Sean Foley. When asked whether Woods would play next week, another person with some knowledge of his progress said, “Very likely.”
Woods hasn’t played since withdrawing after nine holes of The Players May 12 because of recurring left leg injuries.
