A golf 'superfan' is suing the PGA Tour after he was ejected from a tournament for wearing a giant orange tiger suit to support his idol Tiger Woods, TMZ reported Thursday.
Jason Goodwin claimed he was escorted off the course by a security officer at the first hole of the TPC Boston tournament after Angel Cabrera, Woods' playing partner, complained that Goodwin's tiger suit was "too bright and bothersome."
According to Goodwin, he had a valid ticket to the event and received "pre-permission" to wear the costume, which resembled the Frosted Flakes mascot Tony the Tiger.
Goodwin filed a small-claims lawsuit against the PGA Tour in Boston asking for $7,150, on the basis that his civil rights were "infringed upon."
"I want to make the point that you can't tell people what to wear," said Goodwin. He added that he chose $7,150 because it is the largest amount he could sue for in small-claims court.
