Players champ Si Woo Kim wins $1.89 million, flies coach the next day

A total of 66 PGA Tour golfers have earned more than $1 million over the course of the 2017 season so far, but that doesn't mean that some players aren't trying to save money when possible.
On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, 21-year-old South Korean Si Woo Kim cruised to a victory at The Players Championship with a flawless bogey-free round to earn $1.89 million. It was Kim's second career PGA Tour victory.

It was also revealed that Kim won the Players (and then crammed himself into a tiny airplane seat) with a bad back. He withdrew from this weekend's AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas as a precautionary measure after his back needed treatment before his final round Sunday.

"After consulting with my team last night and this morning, I have decided to withdraw from this week's AT&T Byron Nelson. On Saturday night at THE PLAYERS, my back began to flare up. On Sunday when I arrived, I received treatment from a physio on the putting green that helped me get through the round, and fortunately, win the tournament. Having dealt with that the last two days, I feel it is best for me to take precautionary measures to ensure I can practice and compete fully healthy for the rest of the season."
