PGA Tour golfer is 'overwhelmed' by the response to his emotional first win

Billy Hurley III came away with the surprising victory at the Quicken Loans Invitational on Sunday, nabbing his first PGA Tour win in 104 career starts. The Naval Academy graduate served five years in the Navy, and his first victory couldn't have come at a more appropriate event.
The Quicken Loans Invitational consistently honors military veterans, making his win even more meaningful. In addition to the tournament's support for veterans, Hurley announced at the event a year ago that his dad was missing. Two months later, his father took his own life.
It was an emotional win for the Hurley family, and it didn't go without recognition. He shared a screenshot of his iPhone showing just how many people tried to reach out to him.

He even had fans in Starbucks talking about his win without knowing he was standing right there. Pretty fantastic.

Additionally, his neighbors welcomed him home from Congressional with a bunch of celebratory decorum on his house.

Needless to say, this was a huge moment and much-needed win for Hurley and his loved ones after what they've endured in the past year.
