After a freak ankle injury interrupted his memorable season, British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen says he's ready for this week's Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Oosthuizen tore left ankle ligaments when he stepped in a pothole on a hunting trip in September and went on an enforced break - which he says was good for him.

He says ''it was so hectic for the four weeks after the (British) Open that I think the injury came at a good time ... in a way I think it worked out nicely.''

The South African made a premature return at China's HSBC Champions event in November. But after more rehab and gym work, Oosthuizen says the ankle is in much better shape.
