Lexi Thompson gets Marine prom wish

LPGA phenom Lexi Thompson was enjoying a fun-packed Friday with a war hero ahead of her senior prom, after sending out a public appeal for a military date.
Thompson, who at 16 became the youngest-ever champion on the women's pro tour, requested a man in uniform last month, with the offer of an all-expenses-paid trip to South Florida.
US Marine Lance Cpl. Mark Scott, of Naperville, Ill., was selected from more than 100 servicemen who sent videos to the now-17-year-old Thompson's Facebook page and flew down to Coral Springs on Thursday.
Thompson had planned to treat him to an evening's go-karting before the pair appeared in front of a national TV audience on "FOX and Friends" on Friday morning, the Sun Sentinel reported.
Scott, 20, who earned a Purple Heart in Afghanistan, was set to teach Thompson how to fire a rifle at a local gun range, before the golf prodigy returns the favor with a short clinic on the course at her local Coral Ridge Country Club.
The pair will then head to Thompson's Coral Glades High School Prom on Friday night at Pier 66.
