Thomas Levet shot a 1-under 70 in windy conditions to win the French Open, beating Thorbjorn Olesen and Mark Foster by a stroke on Sunday.
The Frenchman made 4 birdies and 3 bogeys for a 7-under total of 277 to get his first top-10 finish of the year and earn his sixth career title.
A runner-up at the 2002 British Open, Levet was still tied with Olesen on the last hole.
Levet missed a 4-meter birdie putt on the 18th, giving Olesen the chance to force a playoff.

Olesen's chip landed a meter from the cup but he then failed to convert his short par putt.
Foster was also in a position to force a playoff but his 6-meter birdie putt on the 18th was too short.
Martin Kaymer was fourth despite a final-round 2-over 73 for a 280 total.
