Jacquelin leads Sicilian Open by 1
Raphael Jacquelin of France shot a 2-under 69 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead after the third round of the Sicilian Open.
Jacquelin mixed three birdies with a bogey for a 5-under total of 204, overtaking overnight leader Anthony Wall of England who settled for a 72 to sit in second place.
''I was just trying to concentrate only on my game and I am really pleased with the way that I am hitting the ball at the moment,'' Jacquelin said. ''I'm hitting my new driver really well and staying patient on the greens which you have to do here. I just have to try and keep going and stay patient tomorrow and make some good opportunities for birdies. That's the aim anyway.''
Wales' Phillip Price (67) and England's Jamie Elson (69) are tied for third on 207.
Jacquelin picked up shots on the first and fourth holes to record a front nine of 33 before also birdieing the 12th.
''If I win, I win, if not then it doesn't really matter,'' Jacquelin said. ''Obviously I want to win and came here to win but we are all here to win and there are a lot of guys playing each week and there can only be one winner.''
