Teenager Ryo Ishikawa has set a new 18-hole record on the Japan Tour with a 12-under-par 58 at The Crowns en route to his seventh career title.
The 18-year-old Ishikawa began Sunday's round six shots behind leader Shigeki Maruyama but carded 12 birdies in a bogey-free round for a 13-under 267 total at the Nagoya Golf Club.
Ishikawa, who birdied nine of the first 11 holes, won the Japanese tour's 2009 money title but had yet to win on the Japan tour this season, missing the cut in the season-opening Token Cup and finishing in a share of 11th in the Tsuruya Open last month.
