D.H. Lee sank three birdies on Saturday and gave out one more in frustration.

Lee gave the middle finger after firing his approach shot long at the par-4 12th hole at Congressional during the third round of the AT&T National. He made bogey on the hole.

The 25-year-old South Korean appeared to be reacting to a fan in the gallery when a CBS camera caught the footage.

But he told the Golf Channel that wasn't the case.

“I’m sorry for that,” Lee said. “No, it was just for me. My ball. It was frustration. It wasn’t aimed at anyone.”

Lee began the day two strokes off the lead, but shot a 3-over 75 in his third round and dropped into a tie for 20th.
