John Daly is expected to play in a Nationwide Tour event in Arkansas next month on a sponsor's exemption.
Patricia Brown, executive director of the Fort Smith Classic, said Friday that Daly has committed to play in the June 17-20 tournament, which would be his first Nationwide Tour event since February 1991. Later that year, Daly won the PGA Championship.
Daly is from Dardanelle, about 75 miles from Fort Smith. Daly also is scheduled to perform at a concert at Fort Smith River Park the night of June 17.
