Brittany Lincicome shoots 70 to open Women's PGA Championship

Brittany Lincicome had a late surge with an eagle and birdie to join a large group at 3-under-par 70 among the early starters in the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Lincicome, who won the first LPGA major of the year at the ANA Inspiration, made an eagle on the par-5 15th hole and followed with a birdie at Westchester Country Club. She was joined in large group at 70 that included Lexi Thompson and Cristie Kerr.

Two-time defending champion Inbee Park opened with a 71. Lydia Ko, the No. 1 player in women's golf, had a 72.

From the afternoon wave, Hall of Famer Karrie Webb and Canadian teen Brooke Henderson already were at 4 under and still on the course.
