The BMW Championship is the penultimate event of the 2015-16 PGA Tour season. After this week, the final 30 will be set for the Tour Championship at East Lake.

With Rory McIlroy’s impressive win at the Deutsche Bank Championship in the rearview mirror, it’s time for the third leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs: the BMW Championship. Crooked Stick Golf Club is hosting for the second time in five seasons, so we should be in for a treat — it’s not every year we get to see the well-regarded Pete Dye design in action.

For PGA Tour fantasy managers, the effects of the postseason are beginning to loom large — there are only 70 players to choose from this week, less than half the number of many regular events. While this is somewhat limiting in terms of lineup construction, you should still have plenty of flexibility. For the Tour Championship, which hosts just 30 players, it may be a different story.

But while the size of the field may have shrunk, the fantasy principles are the same — recent results, course history and the like. Without further ado, let’s get to it. Here are five solid fantasy plays for the BMW Championship. They should work well in any number of formats, but they’re specifically geared towards DFS leagues.

Adam Scott is back to being one of the PGA Tour’s most consistent forces.

This Aussie has enjoyed a terrific comeback season, and he’s starting to really heat up just in time for the biggest payday of the season. Scott has opened the postseason with a pair of fourth-place finishes, closing last week’s Deutsche Bank Championship with a stellar 65 on Labor Day. He also tied for sixth at the 2012 BMW Championship, an experience that should come in handy this week. Scott’s ball striking skills should give him a major boost — he ranks first in strokes gained: approach-the-green, as well as 18th in strokes gained: off-the-tee.

Ryan Moore has been strong to this point in the postseason, finding the top 10 in each of the first two playoff events.

This Washington native is heating up at exactly the right time. With a pair of top 10s to open the FedEx Cup playoffs, as well as a victory at last month’s John Deere Classic, Moore has been outstanding over the past few weeks. That uptick in form is mostly thanks to his play around the green, in addition to his ball striking — he was inside the top six in both relevant strokes gained categories at the Deutsche Bank. He tied for 10th at the BMW Championship four years ago, so he shouldn’t have any trouble finding his bearings at Crooked Stick this week.

Jason Dufner has been one of the most reliable players in the game over the past few months.

After struggling with injuries and inconsistency for a couple of seasons, Dufner finally recaptured some winning form in 2016. While he hasn’t contended anywhere since his win at the CareerBuilder Challenge back in January, his current streak of 12 cuts made is a testament to his steady play. He’s also notched eight top 35 finishes in his last ten starts, so the results have been there — he just needs to string more good rounds together. He tied for 28th in his last appearance at Crooked Stick, and given his recent results, there’s a good chance he notches a personal best this week.

With good results in each of the last two weeks, Ryan Palmer just might be kicking off another one of his hot streaks.

After playing through a solid but unspectacular regular season,  Palmer will bring some momentum into this week. The Texan is on a run of back-to-back top 25s, having notched a tie for 13th at The Barclays and a tie for 24th at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He’s known as one of the PGA Tour’s streakier players, so it might be worth your while to hop on the bandwagon and add him to your lineup. His record at Crooked Stick isn’t anything to write home about, but at least he has more experience with the course than the majority of this week’s field.

While he currently sits outside the top 30, Roberto Castro is in the right form to cap a remarkable comeback season with a Tour Championship berth.

This Georgia Tech product started the year outside the top 350 in the world ranking, but he’s moved up to the 101st slot as we head to the third leg of the postseason. The highlight of Castro’s season was his playoff loss to James Hahn at the Wells Fargo Championship, and he’s been solid since then, racking up four top 25s. At the moment, he’s found the top 25 in two of his last three starts, making him an intriguing option in this week’s reduced field. Wielding one of the better tee-to-green games on the PGA Tour, he’s worth a flier.
