Blasberg family plans civil suit against doc

The family of U.S. pro golfer Erica Blasberg will file a civil suit against the doctor charged with obstruction of justice for removing her suicide note and some prescriptions pills from her home, RadarOnline reported Thursday.
A Nevada coroner Tuesday ruled that the cause of Blasberg's death was suicide.
On the same day, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dr. Thomas Hess. He was having a relationship with the golfer and called 911 to report Blasberg's condition on the day she died.
The doctor surrendered to police and was released after posting bail of $637.
But Blasberg's father Mel told RadarOnline his family is continuing the search for answers.
"Begrudgingly, we've started a civil action suit against him [Hess]," he said.
"This is not what I wanted to do. The only thing I want is to know what happened and move on. He won't give me that information so we’re doing what we have to do.
"From what I know talking to people who aren't involved in the investigation, I get the feeling he's never going to be forthright, he doesn't appear to be outwardly showing any concern, and he clearly doesn't feel any concern about any of this.
"Right now it’s a runaway freight train and I hope he gets crushed by it."
Police who responded to a call to Blasberg’s home in Henderson, in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, on May 9 found the 25-year-old’s body with a bag secured over her head.
The coroner ruled Blasberg died of asphyxia and toxic levels of prescription medication. The medications found in her system included headache, cough, pain and anti-anxiety drugs.
Meanwhile, Hess told police he removed the suicide note and hid drugs in his car to save her from any embarrassment, People magazine reported.
"I know doing that was -- was stupid, but I was trying to save some embarrassment for her," Hess said in a court affidavit.
When asked why he hid the items, he said: "I have no idea. I
mean that. That whole thing was a fuzz for me."
