Penn State football is 2-1 on the young season, and much of the Nittany Lions' success on the offensive side of the ball has been thanks to first-year players.
True freshman running back Saquon Barkley has three touchdowns on the season while classmate Brandon Polk (a wide receiver) has one.
That means true freshmen have accounted for half of Penn State's eight touchdowns scored this season.

Another of those TDs was scored by DeAndre Thompkins, a redshirt freshman, while junior Akeel Lynch has two touchdowns and sophomore receiver DaeSean Hamilton has one.
