Mordecai Cargill ran for a career-high 230 yards and two touchdowns to help Yale hold off Columbia 16-13 on Saturday for the Bulldogs' ninth straight win in the series.

Cargill scored on a 19-yard run in the third quarter and a 4-yard scamper to start the fourth, giving Yale (4-3, 3-1 Ivy League) a 16-0 lead with 12:03 to play.

Sean Brackett led a fourth-quarter Columbia (0-7, 0-4) rally with a 26-yard strike to Zack McKown and a 4-yard score to Mike Stephens to pull within the final margin, but the Yale defense came up big to close it out.

After Columbia stopped Yale on a fourth-and-one on the ensuing possession, Yale returned the favor as Nick Okano intercepted Brackett on fourth-and-seven at Columbia's 31-yard line.
