Former national champion-winning Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston etched his name into the Seminoles record book once again on Thursday night, as he became the school’s first-ever No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.
Winston was selected in the top spot by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making him the highest selection since defensive end Andre Wadsworth was selected No. 3 overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 1998.
Winston went 26-1 as a starter for Florida State, leading the Seminoles to a national championship in 2013, while also winning the Heisman Trophy.
