TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) Anu Solomon will debut as Arizona's quarterback in the Wildcats' opener against UNLV on Friday night.
How long he stays there will likely depend on how well he plays.
Solomon, a redshirt freshman, won a close battle with Jesse Scroggins, Jarrad Randall and Connor Brewer, all transfers from top Division I programs.
Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez said this week that Solomon will be the starter and won't have to look over his shoulder if he makes a mistake, but added that the other quarterbacks could play against the Rebels and during the rest of the season.

UNLV also will have a quarterback making his debut.
Blake Decker, a transfer from Scottsdale Community College, beat out Nick Sherry for the starting job.
