Watson early Heisman favorite with two ACC stars not far behind him

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is the early favorite to win the Heisman in 2016, according to the sports gaming website Bovada.

Earlier this week Bovada released the odds for top 13 Heisman contenders and Watson, who finished third in the Heisman voting this season, was the favorite for next season with 9:2 odds.

As a sophomore, the electric Watson led the ACC with 4,104 passing yards and 35 touchdown passes and became the first player in FBS history to eclipse the 4,000-yard passing mark while rushing for over 1,000 yards.

LSU superstar running back, Leonard Fournette, who rushed for 1,953 yards and 22 TDs as a sophomore, had the second-best odds to take home the Heisman (5:1), tying Stanford’s do-it-all star, Christian McCaffrey. The Cardinal running back placed second in the Heisman voting this year and broke Barry Sanders’ record for most all-purpose yards in a season.

Florida State rising junior running back, Dalvin Cook, rushed for an ACC-best 1,691 yards and 19 touchdowns and was given 12:1 odds of winning the trophy.

Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya, who will be a junior next season, has 25:1 odds of winning the Heisman after ranking second in the ACC with 3,238 yards and 16 touchdowns.
