WATCH: Ohio State's defense sends warning shot to entire country

There's one storyline in particular that has dominated the college football offseason and figures to continue driving much discussion into the fall: Who will be the starting quarterback at Ohio State?

In fact, since Cardale Jones and running back Ezekiel Elliott helped the Buckeyes rip through the Big Ten title game and College Football Playoff last season en route to a national title, most of the chatter around the Buckeyes has been about their offense.

Well, the defense says it's time it gets more respect.

Our guy Mekka Don, a rapper and former OSU receiver, sent us his latest video today, which is an ode to the defense and started because linebacker Darron Lee came to him and said the defense feels overlooked and wants to put the country on notice heading into 2015.

"I think the guys feel underappreciated because some of their unbelievable feats are rarely mentioned," Mekka told FOX Sports, citing OSU holding Oregon's explosive offense to only 20 points in the national title game. "Ohio State's offense gets most of the talk, and deservedly so, but they feel as though the defense has great impact as well."

I imagine you're gonna be seeing a ton of Ohio State's defense this year, as the Buckeyes are heavy preseason national title favorites and that unit -- with Lee, Joey Bosa and many other studs -- will be crucial to ripping through the Big Ten and shutting down any high-octane attacks it may face in the playoff.

Here's the defense's new video. Enjoy, Ohio State fans.
