Washington offensive recruiting heats up

Published May. 12, 2015 5:26 p.m. ET

With spring practices done with, the Washington coaching staff has set out on the road to try and bring the best players in the country to Seattle.

Currently, the Huskies have three known commitments: Brandon Wellington (ATH), Taylor Rapp (Safety) and Luke Wattenberg (OL). The 2016 class will be a small one as only 14 scholarship seniors are set to leave after 2015 and there aren't truly any early-entry candidates.

The Huskies have an obvious need at QB and have targeted a ton so far this recruiting season; however, QB Dillion Sterling-Cole of Houston is the only QB that has an offer from Washington that is still uncommitted. Sterling-Cole is a dual-threat QB that could be a good fit with the Huskies, but Washington would ideally like to bring in two QBs in this class.

Other players the Huskies are targeting right now include OL Michael Eletise of Hawaii, WR Simi Fehoko of Utah, WR N'Keal Harry from Arizona, TE Devin Asiasi from California and RB Sean MCGrew from California.
