CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) Virginia wide receiver T.J. Thorpe will miss about 10 weeks after breaking a bone in his right shoulder.

Virginia coach Mike London said Thorpe underwent surgery Thursday, a day after sustaining the injury to his right clavicle during a team scrimmage.

Thorpe transferred to Virginia after earning a degree in exercise and sport science at North Carolina. He had 42 career receptions for 574 yards and five touchdowns in 34 games for the Tar Heels.
