It's pretty rare when folks inside the sport get almost as caught up in a regular-season college football game as those in the stands or on their couches at home. But that was the case Saturday as Bob Stitt made quite a national TV debut in his first game as Montana's head coach.

Stitt's Griz knocked off No. 1 North Dakota State, a program that has won the last four FCS national titles in a row. Stitt's Griz were a 14.5-point underdog, playing with a new starting QB who had thrown just two college passes. Regardless, the Griz rallied from a 35-31 deficit in the game's final minute, at one point converting a fourth-and-10 before scoring the game-winning touchdown with two seconds remaining on a fourth-and-goal from the Bison 1-yard line.

The reaction from coaches all over the sport was pretty amazing to see. Perhaps none was more fired up than the Nebraska Cornhuskers staff, who packed into the grad assistants' office to watch the Griz's fourth-down play that proved to be the game-winner.

There are some connections between the Montana and Nebraska staffs. Husker staffer Shann Schillinger is a former Montana standout; Bruce Read, another NU coach, was on his dad's staff when Don Read led the Griz to the national title in 1995; and Stitt has known Mike Riley for years.

Here's a short clip from inside the Nebraska offices of Cornhusker coaches going wild over Montana's game-winning TD (apologies about the grainy cellphone footage, but it's still cool):
