Joe Barry is Southern California's new linebackers coach, leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to rejoin former boss Monte Kiffin.
Barry is returning to his alma mater to work for Kiffin and his son, Lane, who took over the Trojans earlier this month.
Barry spent six seasons working for Monte Kiffin with the Buccaneers from 2001-06 before two seasons with the Detroit Lions, where he worked for head coach Ray Marinelli, his father-in-law. Barry returned to Tampa Bay last season.
Barry was a two-year letterman at USC, starting seven games at inside linebacker in 1993. He spent two seasons on USC's coach staff immediately after his playing career.
