UCLA says left tackle Sean Sheller has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.
The NCAA's decision on Sheller was announced Wednesday, giving a boost to beleaguered Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel and his revamped coaching staff.
Sheller started 11 games last season, missing one game under suspension for violating team rules. He made a strong return to the offensive line after practicing with the defensive line during the 2009 season.
Sheller missed the entire 2008 season after hurting his left knee in an ATV accident. He also sat out his entire first season at UCLA after tearing a ligament in his right knee.

UCLA also will get center Kai Maiava and guard Jeff Baca back in the fall. Both former starters missed last season.
