Turf fields at Notre Dame practice facility to be replaced

Seven years of usage will take its toll on a field, so Notre Dame has plans to replace its two turf fields at the LaBar Practice Complex, Eric Hansen of the South Bend Tribune reports. The third field at LaBar, Notre Dame's practice facility since 2008, is natural grass.

The Fighting Irish started playing their home games on a FieldTurf synthetic surface for the first time last season, Hansen notes.
