A University of Tulsa football player charged with felony embezzlement has been released from jail following his arrest.

Tulsa County jail records show Damaris Johnson was taken into custody about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, booked into the jail and released on $1,500 bond.

The Tulsa County District Attorney's office has charged Johnson and his girlfriend, Chamon Jones, with embezzlement. First Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond said the two allegedly embezzled $2,610 worth of merchandise from a Macy's store where Jones worked between Aug. 20 and Aug. 25.

Coach Bill Blankenship last week suspended Johnson indefinitely after he was questioned about the transactions.
