Jerry Tillery is an athletic 305-pound young man. That makes him unique in and of itself, but it's just the start of the story for the freshman defensive lineman from Louisiana who is already having an impact at Notre Dame.

NDInsider relates a few interesting tidbits about Tillery, including how susceptible he apparently has been to pranks by his teammates.

Not only does he tolerate being called, "Terry Jillery," he also wore kept his helmet while using a port-o-potty during practice.

“He’s always good for a laugh or something,” said Matthias Farley, who is a senior captain for the Fighting Irish. “His facial expressions are hilarious. He also works his tail off and he wants to be really good. It’s that, coupled with an incredible work ethic and drive, that makes him a lot of fun to play with and a lot of fun to be around on and off the field."

Tillery hopes to be able to start making fans take notice of what he does in games, but he has a

fallback plan, too, and that is medical school.

“Why can’t you do both?” he asked. “Plenty of people have done it before me. I don’t think I’m the first one with those aspirations. I’m handling the coursework, and I’m doing pretty well on the field. Why can’t I have both?”

Only time will tell, but it might not be wise to bet against him.
