Jason Dann hit four field goals on Texas State's last five possessions to foil stubborn South Alabama 33-31 on Saturday night.

Dann hit from 41 with four seconds left to lift the Bobcats (5-3, 2-2 Sun Belt) to a nervy win as the teams combined for 47 points after halftime, with scores on six of the game's final seven drives.

Dann booted a 43-yarder just two minutes earlier for a 30-24 lead. That slim window was enough for South Alabama's (3-4, 1-2) Ross Metheny, who hooked up with Danny Woodson for a 43-yard TD and the lead, 31-30.

Texas State appeared stalled at fourth-and-24 at its 26 with 40 seconds left until Tyler Jones hit Ben Ijah for 51-yards, setting up Dann's game-winner. Jones rushed for 68 yards, passed for 218 with two TDS.
