Texas pays tribute to memory of Freddie Steinmark on eve of movie premiere


A movie paying tribute to the life of former Texas football player Freddie Steinmark is about to be released.
Steinmark was a defensive back for the 1969 national champion Longhorns, and his story was terribly sad.

Two days after playing in the "Game of the Century" against Arkansas, X-rays revealed a bone tumor just above Steinmark's left knee. A biopsy confirmed the tumor was malignant and Steinmark's leg was amputated.
Steinmark passed away in June of 1971. The movie chronicles Steinmark's journey to Texas, and it looks like it could be really good. Here is the first trailer:
The movie is set to be released Friday.
