Dontey Gay ran for 89 yards on seven carries, scoring on 14- and 39-yard runs, and Tennessee Tech's defense accounted for 16 points in a 43-0 victory over Lane on Thursday night in a game called with 5:01 left in the first half because of lightning and heavy rain.

Marty Jones returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown, Travis Adkins scored on a 17-yard fumble return and the Golden Eagles (1-2) completed the scoring with a safety. Jocques Crawford added 57 yards on six carries and also scored, and Tre Lamb threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Tim Benford.

Lane (0-4) had minus-23 yards of total offense and didn't have a first down.
