Sumlin on Murray's status: 'He'll be the starter'

Sounds like the quarterback competition is over in College Station, as Kevin Sumlin is sticking with the freshman Kyler Murray.
"I can tell you this, we are going to evaluate Kyler," Sumlin said Tuesday. "He left the (Auburn) game Saturday night. Without being specific about injuries, we’ll see where he is physically and what his status is throughout the week.
"If Kyler is ready to go and gets the reps he needs, he’ll be the starter. If not, we’ll make a decision later in the week."
After refusing to play a healthy Murray against Ole Miss, Sumlin seems to have no problem playing him despite being at less than 100 percent. Could this indicate sophomore Kyle Allen has lost all favor with the coaching staff and that Jake Hubenak has no chance to start? Not necessarily.
"Whoever, Kyle and Jake, need to prepare this week. They do every week but particularly right now, with what happened Saturday, they need to prepare to start. The pecking order there will be determined throughout the week. It will be up to how they practice."
