Stoops says it's OK if Riley wants to leave

Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley has been linked to the head coaching job at South Carolina and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says that's a good thing.

"I'n all for my coaches becoming head coaches," Stoops said in an interview posted by The Dallas Morning News. "I promote it. I don't look at it as holding on to anybody. If things are right for him, then that's good for him."

Riley came to Oklahoma before this season from East Carolina. He has also been a coach at Texas Tech, but has never been a head coach."
