Brady Attaway threw for four touchdowns and 275 yards as Stephen F. Austin thrashed McMurry 82-6 on Thursday night in the season opener for both teams.

Attaway, who completed 27 of 37 passes, connected on three of his TDs in the first quarter, including a 43-yard toss to Mike Brooks.

Dalto Williams helped the Lumberjacks by throwing for two touchdowns and 163 yards while Colt Plaster added a touchdown pass and 69 yards throwing.

The War Hawks' only touchdown came early in the second quarter when Will Morris pulled down an interception and ran it back 88 yards. Stephen Warren then failed to connect for the two-point conversion.

Fred Ford ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns while Gus Johnson scored a TD and ran for 37 yards. Jordan Wiggs made a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter.
